With experience as an athlete, sport coach, health coach, and trained mental performance consultant, Allie has witnessed first-hand the importance of caring for and strengthening the mind the same way we prioritize training the physical body. She recognizes that many factors in our internal and external world can impact performance and spending time learning who someone is, inside and outside of their performance domain, is crucial for gathering the bigger picture when understanding a person as a whole.

Allie’s love for sport started in high school where she was a three-sport athlete and embraced all that the beauty of sport participation offers – camaraderie, an opportunity to compete and achieve, fun, and the development of numerous life skills, from problem solving to leadership. She went on to attend Wesley College and played for the DIII women’s field hockey and lacrosse teams for four years and, like every athlete at some point in their career, started to experience her own set of performance struggles. Not quite knowing how to manage these obstacles that felt like mental roadblocks (choking under pressure, swaying levels of confidence and motivation), this sparked a curiosity that landed Allie in a few introductory sport psychology classes at Wesley.

After college and spending a season coaching high school field hockey and lacrosse, she decided she wanted to take on a more active role in working with performers to improve their mental game, equipping them with a variety of mental tools and self-regulation skills to help achieve their performance and well-being goals.

This insight led Allie to the University of Denver for graduate school where she earned a master's degree in sport & performance psychology. Here, she was offered rigorous program coursework and numerous opportunities to gain hands-on mental performance consulting experience. She had the privilege of working one-on-one with athletes, running coach workshops, and providing season-long mental skills training to teams with varying performance backgrounds and skill levels, from youth to collegiate athletes, and soccer and volleyball teams to JROTC drill teams.

Allie maintains membership in the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), the leading organization for sport psychology consultants and professionals. In her work at Embark, she is passionate about meeting every individual and team where they are at on their unique performance journey, coming up with personalized game plans so those looking to take the next step feel geared up to successfully reach their destination and tackle obstacles that show up along the way, all while embracing the process.
